In 2015 the GSS Autumn Workshop took place at the Fraunhofer institute UMSICHT in Oberhausen. This was the perfect opportunities for the GSS members to learn about the research carried out at Fraunhofer UMSICHT – one of RESOLV’s participating institutes. The Workshop started with welcoming words by Prof. Deerberg, deputy director of Fraunhofer UMSICHT, who briefly presented the activities of the institute. From 15th until 19th of June, 2015 TranSOLV will present the leading research in the field of Solvation Science at the "ACHEMA - Weltforum und 31. Internationale Leitmesse der ProzessindustrieBlaupause" in Frankfurt.

The second GSS Summer School took place from 25th to 29th of May 2015. We had the pleasure to welcome 12 international participants from five different countries and more than 80 participants in total.

Am Do, 14.05.2015 um 18:45 Uhr berichtete Prof. Stefan Hell im Audimax der Ruhr-Universität über seine Forschungen zum Chemie-Nobelpreis 2014. Zahlreiche Bürger der Stadt Bochum besuchten zu diesem Anlass die Ruhr-Universität.

From 14th to 16th May 2015 the Cluster of Excellence RESOLV hosted the 114th General Assembly of the German Bunsen Society for Physical Chemistry (Bunsentagung) with the main topic "Solvation Science" at the Ruhr-University Bochum. More than 600 international researchers took part.

The second Klausurtagung of RESOLV took place from 09. – 11.03.2015 in Sportschloss Velen near Münster. After having severe problems with the long bus transfer to the last Klausurtagung in Bavaria near Munich, we chose a nearer location this year. Sportschloss Velen proved to be a comfortable, well-equipped conference site in an old castle, only one hour away from the Ruhr-University.
