Inspiring female talents und developing women leadership in science
One of RESOLV’s cardinal principles is fostering diversity, equity, inclusion and respect. We consider equity and diversity as a source of strength, fundamental to innovative ideas, and a prerequisite for excellence in science.
At the initiative of RESOLV, the Women Professors Forum was established at Ruhr University Bochum in 2016. Since its foundation this institutionalized networking platform for all female professors has been under the patronage of the Ministry for Culture and Science of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia. In 2022, the Female Faculty Club was founded at TU Dortmund University.
RESOLV has also joined forces with the Swiss Center of Excellence MUST to establish an international network of female scientists who support, motivate and coach their female peers.
As part of the efforts to foster equity and diversity, RESOLV hosts since 2023 every year an event dedicated to diversity in science on occasion of the annual International Day of Women and Girls in Science on February 11th – a day established by the United Nations in 2015 to highlight the crucial role of gender equality in achieving internationally agreed development goals. On this day, divers role models in academia and industry address their challenges and discuss steps towards a more open and tolerant workplace.
RESOLV supports dedicated formats to engage with the youngest generation of scientist – with special focus on inspiring girls for natural sciences. This includes also our participation in established national youth projects like the "Girls Day" or "Jugend forscht".
