iGSS Application details

Funded positions and iGSS memberships

iGSS is looking for highly motivated candidates with a top-level Master's or Bachelor's degree (A-grade, at least 1.5 in the German grading system) who enter our graduate school either at iGSS Track I or Track II  .

Applicants for Track I & II are required to discuss the application and the research project description with their proposed doctoral supervisor before they submit their application. Track II applicants will work with the iGSS Office to determine the appropriate preparatory program and subsequent matriculation details.

For Track I, both funded positions (up to 67 percent, TV-L E13) and associated memberships for doctoral researchers who hold an excellent Master's degree are available. All are supervised by a RESOLV PI/PS , and work on a project aligned with one of our three research areas .

Students in the iGSS Track II training program receive a monthly stipend for the preparatory phase.

All applications are pooled and sent once a month to an independent selection committee chaired by the Dean of the iGSS  (application deadline is the 15th of each month, each year). All applicants are informed of the outcome after the committee has made a decision.
