Electrochemical Reactions Leave Molecular Fingerprints

Want to learn how to monitor and decipher them? In the Domke Group, we do exactly that: we record and analyze the fingerprints that molecules leave at electrified interfaces, using (spectro-)electrochemical methods such as cyclic voltammetry, impedance spectroscopy, and tip-enhanced Raman scattering. Understand the fingerprints and you'll understand what's driving the reaction — the hidden (electro)chemistry behind, for example, clean-energy technologies.

As a Student Challenge participant, you will be introduced to our spectro-electrochemical toolkit. Feel free to suggest a system you want to learn more about! No prior experience needed — just curiosity about the why and the how, and a picky eye for detail. More information about our research can be found here. Come join us at UDE and watch the chemistry at electrified interfaces happen!

What we expect from the students

Experiences in electrochemistry and spectroscopy are beneficial but not required.
