Welcoming the researchers of tomorrow: “Jugend forscht” visits RESOLV

Every third year, Ruhr University Bochum is hosting the North Rhine-Westphalian “Jugend forscht” (Young Researchers) competition. On this occasion, RESOLV is inviting the students to the ZEMOS research building for a short presentation and a tour through the building.

Last week, around 80 students aged 15 to 21 visited RESOLV and had the opportunity of getting a glimpse of what Solvation Science is about and how modern cutting-edge research works. Eleven of them travelled from their German schools in Bulgaria, Hungary and Spain to Bochum, while the other participants are from North Rhine-Westphalia.

The students are participants of “Jugend forscht” and winners of the respective regional competitions and came to Bochum to present their projects at state level. During a festive ceremony the best contributions in their respective fields were awarded and thus qualified for the coming national final in Herzogenaurach.

RESOLV is once again scientific partner of the North Rhine Westphalian "Jugend forscht” competition and as such awarding outstanding achievements in the field of Solvation Science. Dr. Klaus Engel, member of the RESOLV Advisory Board and member of the RUB University Council, handed over this special prize to Noah Krüger and Julius Rüdiger for their project "Moving away from lithium – The sodium solid-state battery" (carried out at Marienschule der Ursulinen, Bielefeld).
