"If people don't fit the structures, you can change the structures."
These are the magic words with which the former rector of Ruhr University Bochum, Prof. Elmar Weiler, unintentionally laid the foundation for the today world-renowned Cluster of Excellence RESOLV.
Thereupon, RESOLV spokesperson Prof. Martina Havenith did not change the university as planned. Instead, she conceived a research focus in solvent chemistry a now almost legendary train journey.
How this idea became a cross-university cluster, now in its third funding period, and how work is done there, is explained by the two researchers in the new episode of "Think.Try.Transform", the new podcast of the Ruhr Innovation Lab.
