14 individuals participated, including iGSS members, IMOS members, participants from the Iranian program, winners of the Students Challenge, and a double-degree member. During the event, participants had the opportunity to meet their new colleagues, network, and learn about the culture.
The excursion to Gasometer Oberhausen, a gas tank of 118 meters high and with a diameter of 68 meters, conveyed an impression of the industrial past of the region when cole mining and steel production dominated the landscape. Today, it is used for exhibitions such as “Planet Ocean”. Here, the attendees had the opportunity to discover the fascinating beauty of the world's oceans and their diverse life forms
The day concluded with a delightful lunch at a traditional German restaurant, providing a perfect end to a day filled with learning and fun.
