Anion-binding nanocages as receptors and reagents

Angew. Chem. Int. Ed.: RESOLV member Prof. Guido Clever's group has developed a novel approach for the preparation of heterometallic , mechanically intertwined supramolecules.

An international research team led by Prof. Guido Clever (Chair of Bioinorganic Chemistry at the CCB Faculty) has developed a novel approach for the synthesis of heterometallic, mechanically intertwined supramolecules. In their recent publication, which was selected as a "Hot Paper" in the journal Angewandte Chemie, the researchers demonstrate for the first time the formation of a heterometallic \(\ce{Pt2Pd2L8}\) cage catenane, which combines the advantages of two metals for effective self-assembly and robust application as an anion receptor.
