A new class of mesoionic, six-membered N-heterocyclic olefins
Angew. Chem. Int. Ed.: RESOLV member Prof. M. M.Hansmann, published his findings on a new class of mesoionic, six-membered N-heterocyclic olefins derived from 3-methylpyridinium ions (py-mNHOs).
The stability, electrical characteristics, and reactivity of pyridinium-derived mesoionic N-heterocyclic olefins (py-mNHOs) are examined in this study along with their effective synthesis. Because of their high electron donation, these compounds can combine with metals and electrophiles to create cycloaddition products or zwitterions. ORIGINAL PUBLICATION
