MUST/RESOLV Gender and Science Meeting

13th-14th September 2017

Zurich, Switzerland

Do women really have the same opportunities as men to perform a successful scientific career? Do they have the same chances to apply for funding and (tenured) positions as men? Does this also hold true when children come into play and what options are there to combine family life and scientific work for women (and men!)?

Discuss with us, reflect about unwritten rules in scientific culture and bring a discussion about equal opportunities for men and women forward – at the same time boost you own scientific career by extending your international scientific network and learn about exciting, state-of-the-art scientific methods used at the MUST cluster – this is the aim of the Gender and Science Meeting 2017 in Zurich, Switzerland.

Scientists (male and female) will report about their experience on equal opportunity in science and what is being done to bring about changes. Speakers from student’s and academic associations will talk about their initiatives. There will be room for stimulating, lively discussions and exchange. The meeting is rounded off by a career workshop on “Applying for EU funding” and (alternatively) guided lab tours through the MUST facilities are offered.
