Transfer center moves to Herne

The new transfer center in Herne will serve as a bridge between RESOLV’s cutting-edge research and industrial application – accelerating innovation for a climate-neutral chemical industry.

A transfer center for chemical research from Bochum is to be established in Herne. Ruhr University Bochum and the city of Herne have signed a corresponding letter of intent.

On July 7, 2025, Ruhr University Bochum, the Herne business development agency "Herne.Business," and the city of Herne signed a letter of intent at Herne City Hall to establish a transfer center for chemical research from Ruhr University Bochum in Herne.

Specifically, the agreement concerns the establishment of a "Transfer Center for Innovation and Sustainable Chemistry" (ChemINa) at the Herne Innovation Center (Westring 303). There, chemical-technical solutions will be developed to help make the chemical industry in North Rhine-Westphalia and Germany as a whole climate-neutral by 2045.
