Towards intense ultra-broadband high repetition rate terahertz sources based on organic crystals

Opt. Mater. Express: RESOLV member Prof. C. Saraceno's review discusses the challenging combination of high repetition rates and high average power simultaneously, focusing on intense ultra-broadband high repetition rate terahertz sources based on organic crystals

This review article shows how organic crystals can be used to develop efficient high-power, broadband terahertz (THz) radiation sources. It addresses the limitations of current THz sources, specifically in terms of power and thermal stability, and investigates how organic materials like BNA, DAST, and DSTMS can overcome these challenges through strong nonlinear optical properties.
