The event brought together 18 new researchers and students for a time of exchange, exploration, and community building. Participants included members of the Student Challenge and Exchange Programs and international scholars of the RESOLV Summer School 2026.
The event created an opportunity for newcomers to connect across disciplines, meet fellow researchers, and become more familiar with both the RESOLV community and the Ruhr area.
Highlight of the day was the visit to Zeche Zollverein – a former coal mine and UNESCO World Heritage Site that was transformed into a cultural and event venue after mining operations were shut down. This shared experience encouraged lively conversations and helped fostering new connections among the attendees in an informal setting.
A joint dinner concluded the event: Over traditional German food, participants continued their conversations and rounded off a successful day dedicated to welcoming the newest members of the RESOLV community.
