RESOLV Summer Camp 2026: a week full of research, experiments & exploration

Hands-on experiments and direct interaction with scientists gave students unique insights into cutting-edge research.

Last week, 12 students became part of everyday research at RESOLV for five days. Together with our young researchers and experienced mentors, they explored how chemistry, physics and biology come together in Solvation Science. Instead of simply watching, the participants worked hands-on in the lab and experienced how scientific questions are investigated.

Since 2023, our annual summer camp introduces students to a wide range of research topics, including electrochemistry, nanomaterials, microscopy, spectroscopy, laser physics, bio-electrochemical systems and new approaches to sustainable energy. Along the way, they gain practical laboratory experience, learn about different scientific careers and have plenty of opportunities to ask questions and exchange ideas with our researchers.

The RESOLV Summer Camp shows how exciting direct contact with science can be. Students spent the week rotating through different research groups, getting to know a variety of methods and disciplines while experiencing what everyday research really looks like.

The positive feedback from participants confirms the idea behind the program: giving curious young people the chance to explore science in an authentic research environment. Such an experience may even spark a lasting interest in a career in science.

A big thank you to all who contributed to making this year’s summer camp a great experience for the participants.
