Environmentally friendly chemistry and new compact high-performance light sources in the terahertz range are to be implemented more quickly in industry.
Two researchers from Ruhr University Bochum have received funding from the European Research Council to make their research results industrially applicable: Chemist Prof. Dr. Lars Borchardt uses mechanical energy to initiate chemical reactions, thereby making these processes environmentally friendly.
RESOLV member Prof. Dr. Clara Saraceno from the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Information Technology is developing novel laser-based high-performance light sources in the terahertz range of the electromagnetic spectrum. Both are already receiving funding from the European Research Council and will receive additional funds to transfer their previous work.
