Additionally, the Cluster of Excellence RESOLV hosts together with the swiss network NCCR MUST the EU-COFUND project FP-RESOMUS. The project receives funding from the European Union’s Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme under the Marie Skłodowska-Curie grant agreement No 801459. It runs from April 2019 to September 2023. The third and final Call for applications has closed on November 30, 2020.

 

PHD STUDENTS

The integrated Graduate School Solvation Science (iGSS)   offers you a graduate program that combines cutting-edge research with a curriculum of lectures, colloquia, and workshops.

PhD Positions and IGSS Memberships

We are searching for highly motivated students with a top-level Master's or Bachelor's degree (A-grade, at least 1.5 in the German grading system), who enter our graduate school either at iGSS Track I or Track II  . If you are interested in one of our open doctoral positions, please check our official call   to see if you match our application requirements and use the relevant application form to apply:

Please note: Applicants for Track I & II are required to discuss the application and the research project description with their proposed doctoral supervisor. Track II applicants will work with the iGSS Office to determine the appropriate preparatory program and subsequent matriculation details.

PhD students with a very good Master's degree, who are supervised by one of the PIs/PSs within RESOLV and who work on a project that fits to one of the three main research areas   can apply for a iGSS membership to benefit from excellent personal and career development opportunities using the application form above.

All applications for the iGSS are pooled every month and are then sent to an independent selection committee chaired by the Dean of the iGSS  (application deadline is the 15th of each month, each year). All applicants are informed about the outcome after the committee has made a decision.

GSSP, A special Program FOR INTERNATIONAL graduate Students

In cooperation with the Graduate School Scholarship Programme (GSSP)   of the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) , the iGSS will again offer in 2024 two promising international graduate students the opportunity to undertake their doctoral studies within RESOLV. The current call for applications is open October 16th - December 15th, 2023 for two scholarships holders to begin doctoral studies approx. May* - 1 December 2024, *visa and paperwork time dependent. They will be funded by the DAAD for up to 4 years. To start the application process, please visit our  GSSP website .

Master STUDENTS

 

Do you hold a B.Sc. in chemistry, physics, biology, mathematics or engineering? The international Master's program "Molecular Sciences - Spectroscopy and Simulation" (iMOS)  offers a two years’ programme with the unique chance to acquire cutting-edge skills in laser spectroscopy and microscopy, computer simulation, and quantum chemistry. Applications for the 2024 class, starting October 2024, will be accepted from December 2023 - 15 June 2024. If also applying to iGSS Track II, please plan ahead and apply no later than 15 May. Internships

Our open call for current Master and PhD students for Your Step into Solvation Science with the Student Challenge  accepts applications from 15. November 2022 - 3. April 2023. Students who submit successful research proposals will win a 3-month internship, to be completed by August 2024.

Current undergraduate students (enrolled in a BSc or combined study programme) are encouraged to apply for the annual Solvation Scholars Undergraduate Exchange  to conduct a 2-3 month internship at RESOLV. Applications are accepted on a rolling basis from 15. November - 15. January.
