In the award ceremony on June 22, 2023 Havenith was honored for her services to the city of Bochum. Due to her outstanding commitment the German Research Foundation funded the Cluster of Excellence RESOLV in 2012. Since then, she has helped Bochum to become internationally known for excellent science by successfully establishing the interdisciplinary research field of Solvation Science.promotion of women's careers by founding the Women Professor Forum.
"Bochum needs citizens like you, who unselfishly commit themselves to others. Who are continuously committed and help with a lot of heart and soul where help is needed. Who develop ideas and perspectives, create new things and move Bochum forward", says Lord Mayor Eiskirch in his laudatory speech to the nine honored citizens.
