From 24th to 26th of August, 2016 the ECRs offered a 3-days Workshop "Scientific Writing" in English with the trainer Mark Edwards. 12 PhD students learned how to overcome writing barriers and how to structure the own writing process.
On 11th of August, 2016 seven participants learned how to deal with stage fright and how to develop an authentic, relaxed and self-confident presentation style during a half-day workshop. Please download the workshop description.
The formation of strategic networks is an essential keystone for a scientific career. The Workshop on 28th of January 2016 offered a tool to analyse current research networks and will describe methods to extend networks in an appropriate direction. 12 PhDs, postdocs and junior research group leader participated.
On 9th and 10th of December 2015 up to 12 PhD students can learn how to organise their working life in academia. On the first day Dr. Dieta Kuchenbrandt will address the specific characteristics and requirement of time management in a research environment in the whole group. The second day is dedicated for individual coachings with the trainer.
On 7th of December 2015 Barbara Hoffbauer from KEPOS offers a follow-up day after the workshop on Career Opportunities in November. The focus of the follow-up workshop is on how to write job applications and to train job interview situations.
On 17th of November 2015 more than 40 PhD students and early postdocs from RESOLV got the opportunity to talk to CEOs, Department Managers, R&D Managers and Alumni about possible future visions in lively armchair discussions during a delicious dinner buffet. On 4th of November 2015 advanced PhD students and early postdocs learned about Career opportunites after the PhD in science and industry from Barbara Hoffbauer, trainer at KEPOS. The Workshop was fully booked and the need for a follow-up workshop was made clear.
